Artist Statement
Album was produced as part of Printed Matters: The Disembodied Book Made Whole Again, an experimental book-structure workshop in Corner Brook, NL with Scott McCarney in 2010. My production included: Album, Cranial Flexigon, Orb.
Album is a re-interpretation of a Victorian photo album that examines the fading past and the missing dead. A structure was designed to allow the unfolding of initial and final enlargements of key images. Inside, 19th Century Cabinet portrait photographs were digitally altered to remove the sitter. The covers are scans of the original padded album. One copy is hardbound; one is softbound.
